GENERAL INFORMATION

Capacity

9, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, & 34

General Construction

Body is tapered from front to back.
Rear of body to be 8" wider and 6" taller
than front to prevent jammed loads.  Inside
of body is smooth and free of
obstruction.

 

Body Sides

3/16 plate rolled into a broad radius and
bent at the top to form part of the roof.
3x2x3/16 rolled tubing uprights on front
and back.

Body Roof

12 gauge 50,000 PSI sheet metal with 2"
square tubing long member supports running
front to back.

Sub-Structure

5x3 tubing long members with 2" square 1/4
wall tubing cross members.

Body Floor

3/16 AR-400 first 24". Remainder is 3/16"
AR-220 sheet.

Hopper

3/8 T-1 plate formed channel form floor and
sides of hopper.  Clad with eleven 1/4x3 AR
500 wear strips: three on each side and
five across the floor  This design provides between 3 and 6 times the total ware surface of any of our competition.  The right front corner
of hopper is cut away to allow left-hand
drive operation.

Packer

Left is 10 gauge sheet metal 65" tall.
Right is 10 gauge sheet metal 32" tall with a
6" rubber flap extension.

 

Front of Hopper

1/2" #13 flat expanded metal for viewing
carts while dumping.

Cleanout Trough

50-gallon capacity with gasketed cam
latched doors on each side.  Clean-out tool
to be provided.

Upper Hopper Sides

Entire packer formed out of 3/8 T-1 plate.
Face is 24" tall x 74" wide. Packer is
clad with eleven 3/8x3x34" AR-500 wear
strips to match hopper.  Packer transverses
54" through hopper and into body.

Spill Shield

Top of packer is 3/8 thick T-1, 45" long.  A
hinged, 1/2" thick "flipper" plate used to
cover the remaining 12" of pack cycle.  No
framed sheet metal "track roller" spill shields. Hinge for spill shield is 3/8 thick 8" open continuous hinge with 5/8 diameter pin for lifetime service.

 

Tailgate

Four cubic yard capacity bustle style with
self-locking feature.  Tailgate-open light
and audible alarm.  Solid rubber gasket
seals the floor and 24" up each side.  Two
sets of hinges welded to roof use 1-1/2"
diameter pins.

Hoist Props

Two tubing props operated from driver's
side.

 

Automated Arm

Four-cylinder system uses double rails
welded to hopper above packer.

General Construction

Grippers travel straight up 24" before
dumping.  Grippers use adjustable
hydraulics for proper tension on different
style and sized carts.  Open grippers stow
within 96" road limit with 14" of ground
clearance.

Arm Reach

Double rail system for stability used with
two 3-1/2" cam follower bearings on each.
Rail system welded across hopper above the packer.

Arm Elevation

For ease in gripper positioning, arm uses
vertical elevation system. 4" elevator
shaft clad with 1/4x3 AR-500 wear strips on
all four sides. 6" elevator housing uses
seven 3-1/2" roller bearing cam followers
for long life.  All rollers have adjustable
housings to make up for wear on shaft.

Arm Dump

After elevating, grippers and elevator are
dumped into the hopper around two 4-1/2"
main pivot bearing caps with aluminum
bronze one-piece grooved bushings.  Each
bearing cap is held together with four 3/4"
grade-8 bolts for easy replacement of
bushings or removal of elevator/gripper sub assemblies.  Dump cylinder has adjustable rear bushing to make up for wear.

Gripper

1/2" formed channel houses 6" long spring
tension gripper bushings.  Gripper cylinder
rotates rear gripper, which is linked to
front gripper with a tie-rod.  Tie-rod uses 1-
1/4" special bearings.  No "dry" gripper
teeth are accepted for rotating the front
gripper.  Gripper arms are "wrap around"
type for universal 23-450 gallon containers
application.

 

 

 

Cylinders

All cylinders use chrome-plated rods, AQ
type piston seals.  All arm cylinders
employ cushions at each end of stroke.

 

 

 

Tailgate

(2) 3" bore x 42" stroke with 1-3/4" rod.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hoist

(2) 5" bore three-stage single acting
telescoping with 72" stroke mounted mid-
ship outside of frame rails.

 

 

Packer

(2) 5-1/2" bore x 42" stroke laid
horizontal "scissor" style with easy access two-inch "floating" pins.

 

 

Reach

(1) 2" bore x 72" stroke with 1-1/4" rod.

 

 

Grip

(1) 2" bore x 8" stroke x 1" rod.
Adjustable rod end to make up for wear.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Elevate

(1) 2" bore x 26" stroke with 1" rod.

 

 

 

 

 

Dump

(1) 3" bore x 20" stroke with 1-3/4" rod.

 

Valving

Two air-shifted Parker directional control valves are used for arm and packer with integrated relief cartridges.

Plumbing

All hoses are Gates M3K 3000 PSI working
pressure two-wire braid with bite-wire 37-
degree flare fittings.  All moving hoses
are wrapped with nylon protective sleeve.
Steel tubing with rubber clamping are used when possible.

 

Pump

Front mount or PTO mounted double vane pump runs packer and arm in-gear at idle.  RPM above idle disengages arm hydraulics.
Exceeding 25 MPH disengages packer
hydraulics.  Both signals for disengagement are programmed through the transmission E.C.U. At 750 RPM.  Booth sides of the pump deliver 19 GPM @ 750 RPM.

 

 

Reservoir

Frame mounted, 50-gallon reservoir made of 10 gauge sheet metal, baffled 100 mesh
filler port protective screen, 100 mesh
strainers and sight level temperature
gauge.

Filter

100 GPM 10 micron in-tank type with
micro-glass element and dirt alarm.

 

 

Joystick and Controls

Air operated joystick and control
console switch box is installed
in easy reach of the operator with
an arm rest pad.

 

 

 

Rocker Switch Controls

An electric rocker switch
pad is installed to relieve operator
fatigue and provide backup.

 

 

Control Wiring

All air lines are color coded, and
all wiring is marked with specific
function every three inches.  All air
lines and wires are run in loom
and clamped adequately.
